As We Grow Up -grow taller 4 idiots

The process of physiological growth is influenced by many factors: heredity and hormonal regulation of the right to sleep and nutrition, physical activity and psycho-emotional background.
Major role in this process is the growth hormone (GH), which is secreted by the pituitary gland - a gland located in the brain. Once in the bloodstream, GH reaches all organs, including the liver where it stimulates synthesis and secretion of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1).

Basic linear increase is due to human bones. Tubular bones consist of the middle part (diaphysis), the two end portions (epiphyses) and two growth plates, which are located between the diaphysis and the epiphyses. In the growth plates that constitute cartilage are cells capable of division under the influence of GH and IGF-1.  New cells develop into bone tissue, "pushing" the growth plate at the periphery. Thus, growth of the long bones, to assess the growth potential, using an X-ray of hands: the growth plate is well visualized on bone background. http://health.reviewship.com/grow-taller-4-idiots-review/
The growth rate varies person throughout his life. If in the first year of life it is 20-25 cm / year, then gradually slows down (but should not fall below 4 cm / yr). The fact that normal in young children growing region most "fat", but with age it is "thinner", and eventually - to 14-15 years in girls and 16-17 years in boys when they reach their final growth - disappears.

In medical terms it is called the closure of the growth zones. Henceforth increase in growth is possible only at the expense of correcting defects of posture (such as slouching) or elimination of scoliosis (lateral curvature of the spine). In the future, with age, height decreases: the age of 60 by 2-2.5 cm, and 80 - at 5-6 cm
